Christians of Words VS. Christians of Action

Matthew 21:28-31 But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard. He answered and said I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not. Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, the first.

Do you know someone who said they would do something or promised to do something and didn't do it in the end? You probably do. How did you feel when you found out that they did not comply with what they said they would do? Maybe disappointed, angry, sad.
Some time ago someone's word was very important, if you said something, you had already committed to do it, you could not break the word because when you said it, it was already taken as a "PROMISE" and by not fulfilling it you were taken as a liar, as someone who does not keep your word.

"You did not comply with what you said" Ahhh, how many times have you said, or have they said that to you?

The thing with this is that people who do not comply with their words lose the trust of others, and would be rightfully marked as charlatans, talkers, like blah, blah, blah, pure words, nothing of truth, nothing of action.

You have heard thousands of times the popular saying that says; "Barking dog does not bite." It refers to this same thing; someone who talks a lot, who discusses a lot, who boasts a lot, who makes a lot of noise, who scares, but will not do anything, will not comply with what he says, they are simply not people of action.

The word of the people was losing value because they did not comply with what they said, and because of this they began to take a lot of importance in signed papers, for any commitment you must sign now, the signature represents that you are willing to take ACTION, to comply with what you have said. If you do not ... you will have problems.

In the world, the word was lost, someone who speaks only is not trustworthy, the Bible showed us with the parable you read at the beginning. I have met many young people throughout my life, young people who said they had a lot of love for the things of God but with their actions they left much to be desired, they talked and said very spiritual things but they could not live them, they started to promise things in the church and they wouldn't do it, their words were taken by the wind, they did not do anything they said.

I call these types of Christians "Christians of words" It is easy to identify them, they are those who say that they live for God and in schools, in their jobs, in their daily life they do not, they are those who are in church and they nod their heads approving what the preacher says so as not to look bad, but they can not obey and apply it in their lives. To put it easier: they are those who are hypocrites, they say yes to everything, but they will not do anything.

Attention, Jesus Christ does not want you to be a talker, a Christian of words, Jesus does not want you to show that you like and approve everything the preacher says but don't apply it, what's that worth? Maybe you can cheat the pastor, the church, or anyone by saying YES to everything but, what good is it if God knows you will not do it? We can not think that the important thing is to be good with people, the important thing is to be well with God and to be well with God it is necessary that you are a Christian not of words, but of action. Everyone knows what to do, but who actually does it? In the word of God we have the way in which we should live, but who actually lives like it says? In the church everyone says yes, but at the time of taking action they forget and don't do what they said they would do.

Matthew 15: 8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

You can not say this in a clearer way, if only your lips honor God but you do not live by honoring God with your actions, your heart is far from God. It has happened to me many times, I say things and when it's time to do them, I forget what I said or I have a hard time doing them, but God has taught me that I have to do the jobs that He has commanded me and that I told Him I would do.

Let's be honest, how many times have you been bothered or hurt by any preaching you've heard? Personally, too many times. This was the first son of the parable of Jesus, he was upset that his father sent him to work, he was annoyed by the word he heard, for this same reason he said immediately; I WILL NOT DO IT, I DO NOT WANT TO, but the day passed and he felt he had to do what his father had told him, and even though he did not want to do it, he decided to take action and go and do the work that was entrusted to him. I assure you that this son who said no, but in the end did do what he was ordered is the one that caused his father to feel happy, the other who said yes, only caused his father to feel disappointed.

Sometimes it is difficult to accept a word from God because we do not like to hear that we have to change, as young people we don't like to be told what to do, we can say yes to everything, but God sees if we really take action.

Don't say amen to the message, do not say yes to every word the preacher says, be honest. It is better to be the Christian who the word that is preached hurts them and says no, but repents and finally says yes and takes action, than that Christian who shouts amen to everything but will never apply anything to their lives. The devil is not afraid of young Christians by word, in a certain way the devil trusts this type of Christians. Do you know who the devil really is afraid of? That young man and lady who says; That message hurt me, I did not want to hear it, the word of God was very harsh, but I will do it as painful as it is, I will work in the vineyard of the Lord, I will live in the way my father sent me to live. The church is full of young people who talk a lot, but who at the moment of truth will do absolutely nothing. I believe that it is time for you to be a Christian of action, that you can say no but in the end you say; YES and you will do it, that is the type of young people God is looking for.

And although in this world the word is not important anymore, Jesus commands us to do the following;

Matthew 5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

Jesus refers to this as being a person of action. Do not just talk, talk but also act. Would you like to work on this?
