Against the Current

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Proverbs 14:12

Have you ever gotten into a river and tried to swim against the current? Did you try to go on a different path than the main path? If you have done it for sure you know it is difficult.

It is obviously much easier to swim in favor of the current. It is a matter of being carried away by the force of the river. It does not need to be exceptional.

Always swimming in favor of the current will make it easier; it will always be more comfortable. Going in a direction in which everyone is walking is always easier. Going in favor of the current is always easier than doing it against, going with everyone and getting carried away and dragging will always be easier than saying no.

We young people, we do and say things sometimes because we do not have something to do and say. We agree to things many times not to displease the group of friends, neighbors, or colleagues. We say that many times so as not to hurt or make the person feel bad, or the group of people. I was not the only one to whom this happened.

Different meanings of going against would be; be real despite the teasing, keep on your way although everyone is in another, believe in what nobody believes, do what nobody does.

Now after telling you this I would like to remind you of something that you already know, the current of the world is a current in which we can not go, it is a path in which we can not walk.

Sometimes we think that we can do some things because everyone does them, but that everyone is doing that nowadays, it does not mean that it is good and you can do it.

The word of God says that His children must be different. The world knows that you go to church and for the same reason (even if they do not tell you) they expect you to be different. I do not have to say that I go to church where I work, with the simple fact of behavior and the way talk they have noticed.

Today the pressure of the group is strong, what others say about you affects the self-esteem in a positive way or negatively. Today it is very difficult to find young people who can stop in front of the face of the devil, who put yourself in front of the temptations and you can say no, but I believe that you who are reading this are willing and determined to fight and say no to the world and its desires.

The Lord needs a youth of character, not a weak youth, the Lord needs young people who are going to fight, that even though it is difficult, they will go against the will of this world, even though it will be difficult to do the will of God.

All young people today want to be unique, original, nobody wants to copy anyone, if you follow the current of the world believe me you are not doing something that makes you unique, you are doing the same as everyone else, Do you want to be unique, original, special, different? Dare to do different things, dare to make a difference and go against the current of the world.

Daniel was a young Christian with all his heart, you can read it in the Bible, he was a young man who was taught the truth. One day the people from Babylon came and took the city of Daniel, took young people, Daniel and his three other friends, and took them captives to a pagan land, a land where good did not dwell, and says that the King of that nation told the man that he would take care of these young men to teach them their doctrine, to give them eat what they ate, but when Daniel heard this something ignited in his heart, a fire began to burn him inside, came a zeal for the word of God that made him get up and tell the man who took care of them that he did not I was going to eat, not drink, or do what they did.

I hope you can be a Daniel, a young man with character, who says not because everyone goes, means that I can go, not because everyone is lying, it means that I am going to lie, not because everyone lives like that, it means that I am going to live like this. I hope you're one of those girls who say, I'm not going to put on makeup, I'm not going to dress like everyone else, I'm going to dress modestly, I'm not going to cut my hair, I'm not going to live like everyone else. Whatever it costs I will go against the current, I will say no when I should say no.

Today I am calling everyone to live differently, to live in inner and outer sanctity, to speak differently, to behave differently, to be against what the world is for.

Unfortunately fashions are getting into the church, currents are getting involved with the apostolic youth, boy you must dress as what you are, a man.

Girls for what they are, women. I am talking about living a different life, living a life that goes against any protocol of this world.

Do you want the blessing of God? Go against the current, I have been told many times; I want God to use me, Do you want to be used by God? Do you want the presence of God to be with you? You have to be willing to go against the current, to go in a direction where nowadays no one wants to go, where if you decide to go against the current all your friends, all your friends from this world are going to leave alone, but I assure you something, God will go with you if you decide to go against the current.

The verse you read from Proverbs, I will repeat it to you, There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

The way of this world looks good, it looks attractive I will not deny it, it looks entertaining, on the contrary the way of God many say that it is very boring, that you can not do anything, that you can not have fun ... you know I have lived all my life in the church, since I was born I have been in the church, my life is the church, my holidays are the cults, they are the conferences, I will not tell you that the world has never caught my attention because you I would lie, but I've found it against the grain, I liked it better, many will tell me you do not know what the world is like then, you only have it in the church ... the word of God says what the world is like, you do not need to live it to know how it is, you have seen it, this world is not good, it looks good but it is a bad road, sin looks good, but the wages of sin is death, in this way of truth, you I guarantee you will have eternal life, you will have joy, you will have peace, you will have friendships that will not harm you, but that are going to help you

If you want to go against the current, you must make friendships, make friends with young people with the same vision as you, who together want to go against this world, want to live a life in holiness, do not want to continue on this path it looks right but its end is death. Meet with people who will help you.

I do not know about you but I want to be like these young people, like Daniel and his companions, Do you want to consecrate your life for God? If Daniel and his companions could be different in a perverse world, we can also be different, we can also go against the current of this perverse world.

Talk to God and tell him that you want to change, that you want to be different, that you want to go against this world, tell him you do not want to contaminate yourself with the table of this world, maybe you have sinned but you can still be different if you want, propose in your heart not to try any more harmful, sinful things in this world, what you have to take out of your life take it out now.

Young people, let's clean up, let's establish our convictions, speak with God sincerely and tell him; Lord cleanse me I do not want to be the same as before, I want to be different from the young people of this world. I want to go against the current. Help me Lord.

It is not easy, but if you recognize that you alone can’t do it and ask God's help sincerely, you will achieve it.
